Biz Cafe

Project type: Simulation 

Date: January - May 2024

In my introductory business class, we were tasked with managing a simulated cafe in a competitive environment. Each team had to maximize revenue by making weekly decisions across key functional areas (finance, operations, HR, marketing, and accounting), and our goal was to outperform other groups.As part of our team, I collaborated closely with my teammates to analyze weekly data, discuss trends, and strategize based on our assigned roles. I focused on marketing, which involved creating and adjusting promotional campaigns to attract more customers and boost cafe sales. I researched competitor strategies and analyzed customer preferences to tailor our marketing efforts, from digital ads to in-store promotions. We experimented with pricing adjustments, marketing campaigns, and staffing decisions, drawing insights from customer feedback and performance reports. These strategies helped us engage customers effectively and contributed to our overall revenue growth, ultimately leading our team to first place in the competition. Through strategic planning and adaptability, our group achieved first place by generating the highest revenue. This experience not only strengthened my teamwork and analytical skills but also gave me practical insights into how business functions interconnect to drive success.

EcoWash

Project type: Internship

Date: April - August 2024

At EcoWash, my objective was to drive revenue for pressure washing and deck-staining services. This involved establishing a market presence, closing deals, and meeting an ambitious revenue target over a four-month period. I marketed the service to generate leads and utilized negotiation tactics to close deals effectively. I also managed a team by recruiting and hiring reliable workers, ensuring quality service delivery to retain customer trust. I continuously adapted our service pitches based on customer needs and feedback, building relationships to encourage referrals and repeat business. My efforts led to over $52,000 in sales within the four month time frame, demonstrating my ability to manage high-stakes projects, drive sales, and build a reliable team. This role showed my resilience in a competitive market and honed my leadership skills through hands-on experience in business development.
